This place is an absolute gem for breakfast! The food is amazing, but the pancakes are on another level—fluffy, buttery, and downright addictive. You can tell they’re made with love! What really makes this spot special, though, is the people. Tony, the owner, is one of the friendliest and most welcoming people you’ll ever meet—he treats everyone like family. And Marlin, the cutest and sweetest waitress, makes the experience even better with her warm smile and great service. If you’re looking for a place with incredible food and even better people, this is it! Highly recommend!
“A Culinary Awakening: The Chicken Strip Renaissance” I came here a mere mortal, unaware that my very perception of chicken strips was about to be shattered and reassembled into something divine. The plate arrived, carrying three golden-fried artifacts—each strip crisped to a level that can only be described as Michelangelo’s David but in poultry form. The first bite? Transcendental. The crunch reverberated through my soul, whispering secrets of a higher plane of existence. The chicken within? A delicate, almost poetic contrast to its crunchy shell—like biting into the soft, tender fabric of heaven itself. The sauces—ah, the sauces! A dynamic duo, one creamy and ambiguous, the other a honeyed elixir likely sourced from the gods themselves. I can only assume the kitchen operates under a sacred covenant, where the price of such perfection is their very mortal souls. Presentation? Unapologetically minimalist. A white plate, smeared with the remnants of my previous indulgences, a silent testament to the sheer ecstasy that took place moments prior. I wept, not from sadness, but from the sheer overwhelming beauty of the experience. Would I return? I have no choice. My life is now divided into two parts: before this meal and after. Thank you, dear chicken strip artisans, for showing me what it truly means to live.
Always coming here, i recommend it this is really the best place for eating breakfast in all southern Ontario. The chefs are the best they make always fresh food. Best breakfast. Thanks always is amazing food.
Got a chicken ceaser wrap and fries with gravy. Very good! All in all it was all delicious. Just got there gyro and fries so yummy. They fries are so good!!
Amazing food. Well prepared, tasty and fresh. The classic breakfast includes two eggs (you can choose the cooking method) ham, sausage or Bacon, and hash browns; also a side of toast (white or rye). The Benedict eggs with Ham were extraordinary (you can choose between peameal bacon or ham) the hollandaise sauce was creamy and warm; again, with hash browns. The hash is tender and crispy. The coffee is a little bit expensive (3.25) compared to other places, not bad but not extraordinary. The service was a little slow but kind. I would love to come back and definitely a place to recommend.
This was my first visit to Howard Grill and it was very positive. I was greeted promptly, directed to choose my own table, and was approached soon after by waitstaff that brought the menu and took my drink order. After an appropriate delay, the waitstaff returned to take my food order. The server was unable to tell me much about the size of the corned beef sandwich (I normally weigh my food but didn't have my scale with me). When I asked how much meat it contained, her answer was "it's big" while pointing at a thumbnail sized photo on the menu. The side salad was brought to the table very quickly, accompanied by mustard and salad dressing in their original containers. That was a nice touch as it spoke to the quality of the ingredients while allowing me to measure out precise portions. The corned beef sandwich followed more quickly than expected, before I could finish the salad appetizer. The bread was nicely toasted and the meat was at the perfect temperature. I completed my salad after polishing off the sandwich. Prices were in line with similar offerings elsewhere and food quality was excellent. Had I not visited while my car was being serviced next door, it's not a place I would have found on my own. They don't appear to have a website and have very limited hours of operation, offering only breakfast and lunch until 3pm. Access to this place is quite restricted due to the divided roadway in front of the building, making it only accessible via northbound Howard Avenue. That's a shame because it really is a place worth your consideration.
Homely diner environment with booths. Service was very attentive, friendly and easy going. Food was tremendous, delicious and good value. Highly recommended!
The staff are very welcoming. Place is clean. Food is delicious. They are very generous in the quantity. Highly recommended
